I’m Endorsing Melissa Vine!
In the previous election cycle, many people told me I had an unwinnable district but my campaign proved them wrong. As a mother, educator, and cancer survivor, I understand the work it takes to win when there are many challenges in the way. That’s why I am thrilled to endorse Melissa Vine for Congress. If we’re going to secure my seat and other Democratic districts across our state, we need a candidate who exhibits true strength, who has a story that inspires, and who is in this fight for the right reasons. We couldn’t ask for someone better than Melissa Vine for Iowa’s Third Congressional District.
Melissa won’t hold back in her fight for abortion access and she is someone I can trust will stand up for Iowa’s most vulnerable. Melissa Vine will champion for the working class, fight for a living wage, and support public education.
With Melissa, we’ll have a federal partner who not only advocates for the needs of Iowa families but also upholds the rights of every citizen, including reproductive freedoms.
In recent years, we’ve witnessed a concerning rise in right-wing extremism, which has disproportionately impacted women, children, and LGBTQ+ individuals. What really sets Melissa apart is her ability to engage with all members of our community, regardless of their background, political beliefs, or economic status.
Melissa listens attentively to the concerns of each person and works tirelessly to address their needs. Whether it’s supporting women transitioning from trauma at The Beacon or drawing from her own experience of leaving an abusive marriage and raising four boys as a single mom, Melissa embodies the qualities we need in a congressional representative: empathy, accountability, and determination.
